La Bella Vista

We set off the following morning for Malaga and the campsite La Bella Vista, close to our rendezvous with Desert Detours (our Moroccan tour company). The next three days would be spent doing chores and preparing for our visit to Africa.

La Bella Vista was one of our favourite campsites, mainly because its subterranean shower block was first class with excellent washing facilities all kept spotlessly clean by an army of women clad in pristine white uniforms.

The Beach at Manilva

The Beach at Manilva

The site was next to a beautiful long sandy (little stones actually) beach, dotted with beach bars and restaurants all along the coast from Manilva to the Marina Ducquesa. But this was Malaga and there was a constant thrum from the busy dual carriage just outside the gates and the surrounding green hills were scarred with ugly developments, often attached to golf courses. In these urbanisations the dwellings were packed together, probably with a communal pool; nice for a holiday but who would want to live permanently in such a place? Fewer Britons than previously as we saw several empty blocks of apartments and too many For Sale signs.
